The festival season isn’t over yet. These last summer weeks were filled with unique electronic music fests – like Brave Factory Festival in Kyiv and Z-Games near Odesa. The first one gathered underground rave and techno musicians, and dance music fans united at the Black Sea beaches during the second one.

Brave Factory Festival

Brave Factory Festival took place on August 23-24 and transformed the ‘Kyivmetrobud’ factory buildings into a work of art with art installations and dance floors. There were five stages with food courts, bars and even a beach with a swimming pool on the 50 000 sq. m. area. Tons of ground, sand, and plants were used to turn the industrial factory into a festival. The organizer of the festival is the art center Closer.

The five stages with the urbanistic names Depo, Antracite, Truba, Angar and Container, gathered Ukrainian and international techno, house, hip-hop and experimental electronic music DJs. Among them were - Robert Hood, Octave One, Simian Mobile Disco, Francesco Tristano, The Bug, Derrick Carter, Romare, Egyptian Lover, Zebra Katz, Maayan Nidam, and Brandt Brauer Frick, who brought thousands of fans together.

Z-Games

Z-Games is a festival of extreme sports and dance music. The massive event took place on the Black Sea beaches at Zatoka near Odesa on August 21-27. There were a lot of different sport competitions, DJ sets and entertainment. Every day, competitions were held, as well as lessons and breakdancing workshops, kayaking, fitness, yachting, climbing, and skateboarding.

Afterwards, you could go party at evening concerts which lasted until sunrise. Among the musicians - Pendulum, Noize MC, DJ Aphrodite and MC Junior Red, Zebrahead, Monatik, Dymna Sumish, and many others. Z-Games is the biggest festival in Eastern Europe - this year 10 000 fans visited it.

No despair, the festival season continues! In less than a month, Futureland Festival will take place at Arena Stadium Lviv with a great lineup – French electro duo Cassius and Ukrainian DJs - Cape Cod, Pahatam, and SE62.
